2021.05.10 23:08 Dtr146TTV Heavily considering doordash
I've been driving GrubHub since the day it arrived in my town. Since then I've been having pretty a good time and making pretty good money. lately though, I've seem to be caught in a cycle that I can't escape from. GrubHub punishes their drivers for either missing an order, beingmore than 15 minutes late for a shift, canceling orders, or rejecting orders entirely. The threshold that you have to stay above to stay what they call a "premier" driver is. 93% for the orders you accept or don't miss, 100% I've scheduled the shifts worked, and 90% of the shifts you schedule you have to work no excuses. So basically if you get a $3 order that's kind of bad and you've only done six orders that day you basically have to accept it otherwise the next day you're dropped to a "partner status until your numbers get back up. If you miss one single shift due to any reason. (Mine was because my alarm didn't go off.) You're punished for 30 days. If you drop more than 10% of the blocks you schedule due to any reason whatsoever, same thing. A regular driver compared to a premier driver does not have access to schedules first nor access to orders first. That's a big detriment for such a small margin of error. And that's for 30 days!

2021.05.10 23:08 Yasmunr Should I pursue nursing or give my dream of paramedicine a try?
I've been a CNA for about a year now, I'm a female and 19, and I'm looking to further my career. I've always been set on the idea of going to nursing school and I've even found and been accepted into a private school for my LPN certification which will cost me a large sum of 35k. I'm, understandably, having some second thoughts.
I feel like paramedicine and possibly a firefighter career is my dream. I'm young and healthy and would love to give it a shot. Nursing school intimidates me a little and I've found that nursing culture is quite toxic. I'm planning a ride along this week to see if paramedicine is truly for me and I'll be able to ask a lot of questions, but what do you guys think?
I've seen some posts joking about paramedics wishing they'd gone to nursing school instead. Is it stupid to plan this with the option of going to nursing school after I become a paramedic if I want to?
