2021.06.18 22:35 mizzlish SDI to NDI, back to SDI into switcher

Has anyone done this? Is this my solution? I work for a corporation that has a large campus, and our studio is equipped with SDI gear. I want to have a remote feed from another building on campus, but only have SDI cameras to use over there, and an SDI switcher in the studio. I'm finding lots of NDI switcher info, but not this particular situation. Can I just get 2 converters and use my LAN to do the cable run?

2021.06.18 22:35 Icy-Blacksmith-9846 Martinex 5

Martinex 5 [Brainiac 5 / Martinex] Real Name: Martinex Dox First Appearance: ACTION AND SUSPENSE COMICS #276 In the modern era, the synthetic menace known a Sinistron [Brainiac / Mr. Sinister] used technology stolen from Galactiac [Brainiac / Galactus] to construct the misshapen robot known as Quasimodox [Vril Dox II / Quasimodo] of the Sinister Society [Society of Sin / Sinister Six]. Quasimodox eventually rebelled against Sinistron and, in the early 21st century, his technology was implanted into the brain of a human in an attempt to create a super-intelligent bio-android. This process repeated itself for decades until the Galactiac technology eventually found its way into the brain of a young Pluvian [Coluan / Pluvian] boy named Martinex 5. As a member of the Legion of Galactic Guardians, Martinex 5 invented the Time Square [Time Sphere / Time Cube], though he is too proud to admit he received some assistance from Legion reservist Yondu Vidar [Rond Vidar / Yondu]. Martinex 5 possesses a computer-like mind and can solve the most complex of problems almost instantaneously. He is especially skilled with computers and cyborg design. Like all Pluvians, Martinex 5 has silicon skin to protect him from the low temperatures of space and eyes that can see in absolute darkness. He has developed a rivalry with fellow inventor Fantastic Lad [Elastic Lad / Mr. Fantastic].

2021.06.18 22:35 Asteroth555 In Lieu of training dummies, how do people gauge their "real world" DPS

For instance, I used to used regular Atziri for non-DoT builds. Hit the main one (Who has nominal reflect) and if I kill myself immediately, then that's some solid DPS.
My more recent "DPS check" method is the A9 final boss, the fusion of the 3 mini-bosses.
I usually do a full round of gearing and merc lab by end of a9 (with bloodqueducts and quests I comfortably reach lvl 70), so it's a solid DPS check as that's the gear I'd be wearing until past lvl 80 and uber lab.
The method specifically being, "can I nuke the boss before he runs off and phases"

2021.06.18 22:35 lutetiensis A ring, a tablet, a story?

A ring, a tablet, a story? A ring In 1786, a golden ring was found in Silchester.
It is inscribed on the squared bezel with the word VENUS and a portrait, all in reverse so the ring could be used as a signet ring.
Around the ring are written the letters SENICIANEVIVASIINDE. We can reasonably assume the artist made a mistake: I was carved twice, leaving no room for the final O despite an ND ligature: |\|). The inscription should have been Seniciane, uiuas {i}in de(o): "Senicianus, may you live with God".
If we assume Venus refers to the goddess, and since the second mentions the one God, we could conclude that the signet ring originally belonged to a pagan, before being owned by a Christian who had the ring modified.
This document is known as CIL VII 1305 (original edition), and more popularly as the ring of Silvianus. We are going to see why.
A tablet "In or before 1817", a curse tablet was found in Lydney at the temple of Nodens, about 100km/65mi from Silchester.
Dvo / Nodenti Silvianus / anl(l)um perdidit / dmdiam partem / donavit Nodenti / inter quibus nomen / Seniciani nollis / pemittas sanita/tem donec perfera(t) / usque templum [No]/dentis
Translation (R. G. Goodchild, 1953): "To the god Nodens. Silvianus has lost a ring ; he hereby gives half of it (i.e. half of its value) to Nodens. Among those who are called Senicianus, do not allow health until he brings it to the temple of Nodens"
This document is known as CIL VII 140 (original edition).
A story? On the one hand, we have a ring that seemed to a pagan, which was probably altered by someone named Senicianus. On the other hand, we have a (pagan) curse tablet made by somebody named Silvianus against someone named Senicianus who stole his ring.
The two documents seem to perfectly match: Senicianus stole Silvianus' ring, had it modified, and Senicianus made a curse tablet to recover it.
But that also seems to good to be true.
  • Versnel in Magika Hiera (1991) translates inter quibus nomen / Seniciani as "in the group to which Senecianus belongs" and adds: "The common interpretation, 'among those who are called Senicianus,' seems wrong to me. The interpretation in my text is closer to Latin syntactical rules and nomen is generally "the person" in this type of text."
  • Haverfield (1900) notes that: "it is curious that an inscription found at Lydney, in Gloucestershire, mentions a lost ring, and calls the supposed thief Senicianus, but this is a mere coincidence which dates show to have no significance. The Lydney inscription belongs to the first or at latest to the second century ; the Silchester ring is of the fourth century. The name Senicianius is, indeed, not uncommon."
  • We will conclude by citing Toynbee (1953): "Is the Vyne ring, in fact, Silvianus's lost ring, and did some Christian, more zealous than strictly conscientious, steal it from Silvianus to save it from being devoted to a pagan purpose? Did he cause a Christian inscription to be engraved upon it, and did he then present it to a Christian friend Senicianus? And did Silvianus know that Senicianus had got it? The Nodens temple at Lydney dates from the time of the pagan revival after Julian the Apostate, a period at which feeling between pagans and Christians might have been running high in Britain. Senicianus or Senecianus is certainly not a rare name in respect of the empire as a whole. [...] It is also true that many miles separate Silchester from Lydney. But since the Lydney temple had a guest-house attached to it, it is clear that devotees travelled there from distant parts of the province; and Silvianus could have been a neighbour of Senicianus at Silchester.
A connexion between ring and tablet is, indeed, by no means impossible, if incapable of proof on the evidence at present available."
Thanks for reading.
